This 9 month curriculum includes a comprehensive overview of Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Medical Office skills, Computer classes, Excel, Medical Billing and Coding (ICD-9 and CPT coding systems), Math and Business English courses. Students learn how to do billing and coding for the medical office and hospital including Medicaid, Medicare, CHAMPUS, and Workman’s Compensation. The student is placed in a one month externship for work experience.

Individuals receive a Medical Billing and Coding certificate upon completion of the program. Besides a career in medical billing there are opportunities such as patient account managers, physician office supervisors, and medical billing audit specialist.
